Our Story

Bowery Meat Company, a steakhouse on the Bowery

Bowery Meat Company opened in 2014 at 9 East 1st Street, just off the Bowery, in New York City. It is a steakhouse in the classic sense with a lighter hand: USDA Prime and 30-day dry-aged steaks for one or two, chops, a raw bar with three platters, house-made pastas and a cellar built for red meat. Dinner is served nightly from 5 PM, with a four-course Sunday Supper on Sundays.

Signature dishes include the duck lasagna, broiled oysters with Pecorino and herbed breadcrumbs, the Bowery Wagyu Cheeseburger, the 22-ounce dry-aged bone-in rib steak and the tomahawk for two. The room is walnut, navy velvet booths and vintage schoolhouse chairs under reclaimed wood beams, with the wine on display along the walls.

David DiSalvo is Executive Chef of Bowery Meat Company. His kitchen runs on the classics done properly: steaks seasoned simply and cooked over high heat, sauces made to order, pasta rolled in house, and a raw bar kept honest.

Private dining

There are two private rooms. The Bowery Room, behind its own curtain off the dining room, seats up to 36 at long tables under a mural of a propeller plane over Manhattan. The Wine Room, just off the bar and surrounded by the cellar, seats up to 16. The restaurant also hosts large tables in the main room and full buyouts, with custom menus built around the occasion.
